Stockholm based opera duo Divine consists of the two sopranos Caroline Gentele and Gabriella Lambert-Olsson. They started Divine with a misson ”to spread opera to everyone everywhere”!
Divine´s debut performance was at the Stockholm water Prize in 2007. This acclaimed debut resulted in an invitation to perform for the Swedish King and Queen during their official visit to Vienna.
Since then Divine has sung their way into the hearts of many an audience, on the popular TV programs ”Allsång på Skansen” (twice), Go’ kväll, Humorgalan, Nyhetsmorgon TV4, Gomorron Sverige SVT, Moreaus med mera, Doobidoo, at the Polar Prize gala dinner, the Stockholm Pride Festival, at Dalhalla´s Firework concert,” at Stadsteatern, Riksteatern and Parkteatern amongst others.
In December 2013 Divine had the great honor to produce and perform at at the Swedish Nobel Prize gala dinner in Stockholm.
In Sweden Divine has performed with orchestras such as the Dala Sinfonietta, Västerås sinfonietta, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Borås Symphony Orchestra, the Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble, Rebaroque amongst others.
Outside Sweden Divine has sung several times in Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Germany, England, USA, China and India.
During 2011-2017 Divine arranged a charity concert called ”All women are Divine” on the 8th of March (International Women´s day) in the church Hedvig Eleonora in Stockholm. Female musicians performed music composed by female composers. In 2017 this appreciated concert was broadcasted live in Swedish Radio ”P2 Live”.
Divine has toured a lot in Sweden with their own show ”A Divine taste of opera” and with the magical musical play ”The Swedish Nightingales” which tells the fantastic story of the three Swedish opera stars Jenny Lind, Christina Nilsson and Signe Hebbe. During the autumn of 2016 Divine performed The Swedish Nightingales at the Preston Bradley Hall in Chicago thanks to a scholarship from Dr. Anders Wall´s foundation.
During 2017 Divine performed with Forsvarets Stabsmusikkorps in Norway and at Klara Soppteater with ”Tillbaka till nu” a comic piece written for Divine by Katrin Sundberg.
During the autumn of 2018 Divine toured in Sweden with the play ”The Swedish Nightingales”, they also performed at ”Soppteatern” with a newly written play about the famous Swedish director Ingmar Bergman and in October they performed for the charity organization CSSG in India. They also performed in Bangkok in cooperatrion with designer Göran alfredsson (Thalia.se)
During 2019 Divine toured with the two plays ”The Swedish Nightingales” and ”Ingmar Bergman and the music” in Sweden and do other concerts and events.
During the autumn of 2020 DivineOpera produced the film ”De svenska Näktergalarna” a film about the Swedish opera stars Jenny Lind and Christina Nilsson. ”De svenska Näktergalarna” is currently shown at SVT PLAY.
Divine has released two Cd´s: ”Divine” produced and arranged by Anders Neglin ”A Divine Christmas” with Malmö Symphony Orchestra and two singles: ”Anthem for all mankind” and ”Here again”.
